The Maryland Transcommunication Experiment ®
The Maryland TransCommunication Experiment ® is an exploratory trans audio communication experiment conducted within a simple probability framework designed for replication in field research
The experiment is a product of Maryland Paranormal Research ® and was introduced in 2017 in the Lexington Market Underground (Baltimore) and Brunswick Heritage Museum (Brunswick) ghost expeditions and in private case investigations
The experiment employs the Direct Radio Voice (DRV) method for trans audio response; digital noise filters and vocal processors for signal conditioning; speech transcription for natural language processing; and 52 playing cards in a binomial probability design
The null hypothesis is that the face of a selected playing card selected from the deck is not seen. The alternate hypothesis is that the face of playing card in question has been seen.
The experiment is run for least three (or more) epochs lasting for twenty seconds. If the card is recorded is reported in a trans audio response across three (or more) epochs, it is reasonable to reject the null hypothesis
While the experiment provides a repeatable and simple statistical design, the Direct Radio Voice method carries high potential for cocktail party effects with multiple and noisy trans audio responses that are correct, errant and incomplete
Continuing advances in natural language processing as well as signals processing will gradually overcome these limitations making trans audio evidence objective
Parapsychology regards the question of post-mortem survival of consciousness as unproven. The experiment can also explore the idea that some electronic voice phenomena may reflect psi functioning from living persons and/or participants in the experiment
